Franz Hütter is a scholar bridging the humanities and the natural sciences, with many years of experience in research, teaching and industry. A degree in language and literature shaped his passion for communication that works early on.
Ten years of communications responsibility in an automotive-IT company and another ten years as an independent consultant in Learning & Development combined this passion with practice. Curiosity about the biological foundations of communication that works led him in parallel into neuroscience and genetics.
He earned his doctorate on the genetic determinants of empathy at the medical faculty of the University of Duisburg-Essen, as a Doctor of Natural Sciences in Medicine (Dr. rer. medic.), and conducted research at the Institute of Pharmacogenetics at Essen University Hospital.
Today he teaches Applied Cognitive Neuroscience at the business-psychology faculty of the University of Applied Management. Transdisciplinary science transfer from the natural, human and social sciences into Learning & Development is his central concern.
Franz Hütter is the author of three books and over 60 specialist publications on translating science into training and coaching. He is the founder of the NET OF BRAINS think tank, which was awarded the German Demography Award in 2022.
