Webinar

Since a steadily growing part of our customers are from English-speaking countries and the majority of our German customers work in an international environment, most of our webinars will be in English for maximum accessibility.

The webinars will be held via ZOOM.us on Sundays form 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. CET, so that you can start your new week with a fresh impulse from the fascinating world of applied neuroscience.

Neuropsychology of Populism and Authoritarianism

This webinar is based on a presentation I gave three years ago. At that time, I had tried to understand the brain conditions that had led to the mass appeal and the election of Donald Trump. Today, to my regret, the lecture is more topical than ever. Still being under the shock of the recent right-wing extremist crimes in Germany, I have decided to make it the first topic of my webinar series.

  • Learn about the dark sides of our social brain that, apart from empathy, bonding and affiliation, can foster in-group bias, racism, islamophobia, homophobia, antisemitism and other atrocities
  • Understand the power of implicit bias and how the desire for social belonging makes peer-group compliant 'alternative facts' outweigh any factual evidence
  • Gain insights into the neuropsychology of Terror Management Theory and grasp the connection between hyped threat scenarios and the readiness to use (verbal or physical) violence
  • Learn about the deeply routed authoriarianism in our social brains and the potential application of a sociological fascism-scale for inspiring cultural change in hierachical organizations

Neuro-Bullshit and Myths in Human Resouce Trainings

  • Vaccinate yourself against the most contagious pseudo-scientific nonsense that has gone viral in the HR sector for ages
  • Acquire the knowledge to debunk persistant neuro-nonsense like the left-brain vs. right-brain myth or the fairytale about the equivalence of imagination and reality in the brain
  • Learn how to recognize the common signature of pseudoscience and how to fact-check claims about the brain against reliable sources

  • Learn about the key models in neuroleadership and use them to make your leadership trainings both more scientific and more effective
  • Become aware of the dangers of common mechanistic illusions that are often nurtured by providers of neuroleadership seminars
  • Use neuroleadership to gain strategic impulses for developing more future-proof leadership and organizational cultures

How much neuroscience is in NLP?

  • Learn about the scientifically confirmed and the scientifically problematic or refuted claims of Neuro-Linguistic Programming
  • Understand the neuropsychology underlying the most important of the proven effective methods of NLP
  • Be surprised about the extent to which the key NLP method of 'modelling' makes it compatible with translational science
  • Discuss about requirements of a future evidence-based theory and practice of NLP as a 'systematically eclectic' approach

Change with the brain in mind.

  • Change happens just as shit happens - and we usually adapt spontaneously and without much ado
  • Experience change as the daily business of the brain, which happens without being 'managed' (of, if managed, quite often in spite of it)
  • Get good arguments against excessive planning, control and regulation of change and for focussing on the obstacles to change like fear, greed, protection of vested interests etc.
  • Gain some insights into practical neurosystemic tools that help you to work with these obstacles that maintain the status quo actively, albeit mostly unconsciously
